Warner Bros Discovery Sweden in Palermo: Noll Stjärnor with Lotta Lundgren & Erik Haag

When Warner Bros Sweden chose Palermo as a destination for their bold and irreverent travel show Noll Stjärnor, Your Italy Fixer was there to make it all happen behind the scenes. Presented by the beloved Swedish duo Lotta Lundgren and Erik Haag, the show celebrates unconventional, unpolished travel - where charm lies in imperfection, and the stories are as raw as the locations.

Our role was to provide full production support on the ground: from local crew and permits to sourcing the offbeat, the soulful, and the truly Sicilian. Palermo, with its heady mix of splendour and grit, was a perfect match.

Among the highlights was a deeply atmospheric, esoteric walking tour of Palermo led by Sara Cappello, a local storyteller and chantreusse, who brought the city's streets and legends to life with song, memory and poetry. It was immersive, unexpected, and completely in tune with the Noll Stjärnor spirit.

We also filmed inside a family-run local anchovy processing factory, where Lotta and Erik took part in the ancient art of cleaning and preserving Sicilian anchovies - hands-on, salty and satisfying. The scenes were as evocative as they were educational, steeped in tradition and the smell of the sea.

Perhaps the most unexpected twist came when the crew spent the night as guests of the Benedictine monks at the magnificent Abbazia di San Martino delle Scale, nestled in the hills above Palermo. The abbey, usually closed to the public, opened its doors to the crew - offering silence, symmetry, and sanctuary. It was a night none of us will forget.

From lively street markets and crumbling palazzi to sacred silence and salted fish, this shoot was full of contrast. And of course, the usual challenges arose: unpredictable weather, tight filming schedules and adapting to the rhythm of a city that doesn’t always follow a clock. But Your Italy Fixer kept it all moving - translating culture, smoothing logistics, and solving problems before they surfaced.

Working with Warner Bros Discovery and theNoll Stjärnorteam was a joy. We’re proud to have helped shape an episode that captures Palermo’s strange beauty - flawed, fascinating, and full of life.
